What is a Blind Rivet?
Blind rivets, a.k.a. break stem rivets, are tubular fasteners with a mandrel through the center. Blind rivets are inserted into drilled holes, and a special tool is used to draw the mandrel through the body of the rivet. The blind end expands, and the mandrel is snapped off. Unlike solid rivets, blind rivets can be installed in joints from only one side of the part—making them “blind” to the opposite side.Blind Hole Rivet Options

Second, insert the mandrel into the unique installation tool. Third, "set" the rivet by pulling on the mandrel, which creates a bulge that permanently and securely fastens the items. Jay-Cee carries standard and blind rivet tools and installation kits, including:How to Safely Use Blind Rivets
When compared to other fastener products, blind rivets are one of the safest fastener options available. However, general safety considerations should be followed when using rivets and rivet guns.
